My weekly classes include
Colored Pencil for Everyone (404) Guided and independent work in colored pencil, for all levels
Tuesdays, 12:30 – 3:30 pm
Basic Drawing (401) Learn to see as an artist sees – so you can draw anything!
Tuesdays, 3:30 – 6:30 pm
Open Painting – Night (458) Individualized instruction in oils, acrylics, or other media, all levels
Thursdays, 7 pm – 10 pm
Open Painting – Day (459) Individualized instruction in oils, acrylics, or other media, all levels
Fridays, 9 am – Noon

Learn a fast and easy illustrator’s technique, adapted to new products: colored pencil and/or pastels over an oil underpainting over a textured ground over a graphite outline drawing on illustration board! Take advantage of the best qualities of each medium. Bring your own colored pencils and/or pastels (we’ll share what you don’t have in class) and a couple of brushes. All the special products — illustration board, clear gesso, oil paint, odorless mineral spirits, cotton swabs — will be provided

Come explore the many ways these versatile drawing tools can be used—wet or dry, alone or for mixed media. Derwent, the leading makers and innovators in this fine art medium, will supply some of their newest products for use in this class.

The Secret Weapons of Colored Pencil

An easy introduction to the possibilities of colored pencil, this class covers fun and fast techniques for any kind of subject or style. It includes technical exercises using provided tools and papers, followed by guided completion of a class project, and student selected projects. Instruction includes tips of color mixing, finishing, and presentation.
